Cinema for Peace and Democracy (CPD) is an independent organization founded in 2015 in Dakar by a collective of African journalists and documentary filmmakers. At the intersection of documentary cinema and human rights advocacy, CPD documents struggles for democratic change and exposes violations of fundamental rights, in order to support those fighting for justice and dignity.

Through its films, workshops, public screenings, panel discussions, and advocacy initiatives, CPD promotes alternative narratives, mobilizes public awareness in Africa and internationally, and fosters dialogue around issues of social justice, and democracy.
